Along with having one of the cleverest band names in Seattle music, Fine Prince know their way around a catchy, electro-pop hook. “Nostalgia” bounces along on digital drums and a swirl of clanging synths, while the voices of Jamie Henwood and Jessie Allen float in unison above, bolstered by what sounds like an entire city chorus. The song’s precision and concision belie the band’s ambitious studio skills, creating an intriguing, invigorating tension in the music. It’s the lead single from Fine Prince’s Lookout EP, released earlier this year.
And speaking of tension, check out the video for “Nostalgia,” which we’re premiering today. Directed by Jessica Aceti, it’s a tale of suburban mischief perpetuated by rather unexpected delinquents.
Catch Fine Prince this weekend at Doe Bay Fest and Aug. 12 at Space Craft.
