While thousands of festival-goers flocked to the Gorge over Memorial Day weekend, a certain cadre of music fans stayed in the city and crept to the Grumbledome, a secret venue in the Central District, for the first-ever Susquatch Festival. From noon to 3 a.m., more than 150 freaky DIY fans forewent desert sunburns and windstorms for basement and bathroom sets from 26 bands, including Lilac, #tits and Bigfoot Wallace. Susquatch doesn’t uphold any specific anti-Sasquatch bias, though the suggested $5 ticket and racks of free PBR made it pretty damn competitive.
