It was a beautiful day on Alki Beach as fans and founders of Sub Pop Records—including, from left, Frank Nieto, Jonathan Poneman, Megan Jasper, Bruce Pavitt and Kate Becker—celebrated the iconic label’s 30th birthday during a daylong musical blowout dubbed SPF30, which featured Shabazz Palaces, Father John Misty, Beach House and others acts on the label. During the festivities Mayor Jenny Durkan took to the Flippity-Flop stage to officially declare Aug. 11 “Sub Pop Day.”
