Art Fair weekend kicked off last night with the beautiful, bustling opening of Seattle Art Fair and an array of local satellite shows, many of which took part in Pioneer Square’s souped-up First Thursday festivities. City Arts provided the afterparty for the evening’s art revelers, taking over the corner gallery at AXIS and the brand-new Cellar at Nordo below it. (That’s the old Elliott Bay Book Co. cafe space, for all you long-timers.)
The folks at CHILL were treated to an entrancing Twin Peaks-esque performance by Ben von Wildenhaus, along with sweet sets from Afrocop, Stas THEE Boss and DJ Toya B. Plus we had a build-your-own-sculpture installation station, nail artists Peka Grayson (aka Impekablenails) and Ashley Cristobal working their magic digit by digit and ice sculptures (!) created by Cascade Crystal Ice (“Melting Away” bear) and Creative Ice (“Balloon Dog”).
Thanks to Blue Moon for helping to make this party possible.
