Walkabout: Historic Issaquah

Historic Issaquah

Text and Photos by Virginia Bunker

“When I moved to the Northwest in ’84 to work for Boeing, I chose Issaquah,” enthuses local Gil Drynan. “The city has grown a lot, yet managed to maintain a nice small-town spirit,” he says. And historic Issaquah is always full of fun. Offering a wonderful mix of restaurants, shops, arts and entertainment, plus a little learning at the salmon hatchery, it has something for almost everyone. For the full flavor of the community, catch the Issaquah Salmon Days Festival, October 4 – 5.
