On Sunday June 17—Father’s Day—dozens of families gathered at Westlake Center for the rally Families Belong Together—Familias Unidas No Divididas, an act of solidarity against the Trump Administration’s “zero-tolerance” immigration policy that was separating immigrant children from their parents at the U.S. southern border. On June 20, the policy was reversed by executive order, though as of press time there was no clear plan for reuniting families and immigrants will still be detained indefinitely.
