President of the Puget Sound Maritime Historical Society, Chuck Fowler’s love of boating developed in childhood, when he visited his family’s beach compound on Maury Island. Fowler recalls spending days there on the water in a twelve-foot cedar skiff. He grew up and literally wrote the book, Tall Ships on Puget Sound (Arcadia), on a particularly glorious era of seafaring in the Northwest region.
