Oh the weather outside is frightful, holiday commercials featuring Santa are ever present and Black Friday is this Friday.
Not looking forward to a 3am wake-up call, waiting in the cold and having to scratch and claw your way to the hottest commercial commodity? The solution is easy for Tacomans: the Gritty City Gift Fair.
Jada Moon Gridley, artist and event coordinator, is presenting the event for a second year with, not one, but two days of artistic and musical celebration on November 26 & 27, 1pm-8pm.
Two floors of Speakeasy Arts Co-op (7th and Broadway, Tacoma) will feature vendors hocking creative wares, many of them with a green bent. “From re-purposed silk, cashmere and wool to recycled silver and pearls. Reclaimed wood, forged steel, sparkling gems, feathers, ceramics, glass and more.”
Not only can you purchase original, hand-made gifts (while supporting the local economy, I might add), but there will be space to mingle and sip a cocktail and enjoy live performances from Angela Jossy, strumming her acoustic guitar, jazz duo Bub (Pratt) and Jordon (Cassidy), and others.
So freeze, claw and clamor? Or sip, and relish in local art and music?
This is a no-brainer.
