Letters from Our Readers

City Arts Flying High

I just wanted to drop you a note to say congrats on yet more rich reading in the August editions of City Arts. I was flying to Chicago, so I took all three editions with me (so much more interesting than the banal in-flight mags produced by the airlines!). I read all three from cover to cover and thoroughly enjoyed reading all the articles about many artists I know — and loved being introduced to some new ones. So thanks to you and your team for continuing to showcase the best of our region’s artists and arts orgs. Keep up the great work!

Props for Our Eastside Edition

Thanks for the article and photos on Highland Skate Plaza (“I Want to Get to the Top So Bad, But It’s So Far Away,” August). We Eastside skateboarders are advocating for a skate park in downtown Bellevue, and your coverage shows the artistry and dedication of skaters.
— Ian Elliott, Bellevue

Money Matters

Thank you for the facts presented in “Hard Times, Hard Cash” (August). I like the information you provided on general operating support for arts organizations and the advice at the end [“Donate. Volunteer. Buy Tickets. Stay Tuned.”]. People need to get out there.
