Letters from Our ReadersMonthly ReminderAs a Pierce County Arts Commissioner — fighting to preserve funding for our county’s fledgling arts programs — I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that City Arts magazine is now publishing monthly issues. Your decision to double your investment in Tacoma’s arts community will hopefully remind our elected officials in Tacoma and in Pierce County at large of the tremendous contributions artists are making in our community. Another RoundWe love City Arts and Chris Sharp immensely. We just have a slight issue with your facts in the item “Round and Roundabout” (City Seen, July). Chris did a great job of painting the mural on the side of the Hub building and inside the restaurant. However, the gang at Rusty George Creative designed The Hub’s logo, brand and brand standards at the request of owners Carole Holder and Pat Nagle. We are honored to be associated with the success of this great place and think that credit should be granted where due. The editors respond: We love Rusty George Creative immensely and regret the error. Name GameI am a huge fan of Deborah Page, but there seems to be a mistake on the cover of your magazine. I was very surprised to see the name Ritchie. Being that her stage name is Page, this is very confusing to her numerous fans. — Kathleen L. Bey, Tacoma The editors respond: We wish we could understand and explain what happened here, but we’re confused, too. Our apologies to the awesome Ms. Page and her many devoted fans. The Scream, RevisitedAm delighted with City Arts — a first-rate magazine for any city and a stunning addition to my city. Writing to thank you for the Charlie Cross piece, “Here (Again) Are the Sonics,” in the May/June issue. Cross pulled off the rarest of rock journalism triumphs: an interview with Jerry Roslie. Hot stuff for this old-timer. Cross is a good writer; you couldn’t have picked a better talent. The writer represents the 27th district in the Washington House of Representatives.
