Twin Sister
Twin Sister’s music will not make you dance: The Brooklyn group's electronic, fussy, beat-centric sound isn't aggressive enough to be demanding. Still, you will dance. On the band’s debut full-length In Heaven, Andrea Estella sings breathy come-ons as her band constructs beds of sound that are somehow restful while always moving. And the songs are always moving in directions unexpected, though never disorienting. Stereolab and Cocteau Twins comparisons are natural, but Twin Sister is something wholly its own.
