The Song Show: Chris Mansfield

Chris Mansfield of Fences performs a new song at an early edition of The Song Show, hosted by Sound magazine at the Can Can.

The song, he says, is inspired by the Augusten Burroughs novel Dry.

With a strong musical background, followed by a long stint of excessive partying and alcohol, Mansfield emerges with a rich subtext that adds a damaged beauty to his songs. Mansfield worked with Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara last year to create an album's worth of songs for his solo project Fences, and has now signed on to release an album this September.
