Mark Lindquist, in the hands of photographer Young Lee, can’t photograph badly. As you’ll see in ”Book Case”, Lindquist can easily play the part of the straitlaced prosecutor, the comic-book superhero hiding under a suit, or the focused writer from a bygone era. For the cover, we did have to settle on one, though. This image stood out from the rest, not only because of Lindquist’s striking stare but because of a design idea it inspired in me. The treatment might look familiar, but we won’t give its inspiration away. Let’s just say that Lindquist is a man with more than one narrative. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to return some videotapes. •
