Around Town: Taking the Cake
- the Editors — May 31, 2010
Puget Sound Poetry Connection celebrated twenty years of bringing authors worth celebrating into the limelight on Thursday, April 23. The event, which took place at Tacoma Unitarian Church, attracted veterans and newbies alike for a dedication as well as a look at the history of the organization, its ongoing success with the Distinguished Writer series and its future, with readings from the organization’s most promising poets. Also, there was cake. Photography by Ryan Walle.

The PSPC twentieth-anniversary cake was donated by local architect and poet Jeff Greene. No word on whether he actually made it.

The most impressive display of the night was the collection of local literature and zines PSPC has produced.

PSPC board secretary and 2010 Poet Laureate of Tacoma Tammy Robacker enjoys a moment with Tim Danielson.

Musician and poet David Fewster celebrates with fellow poets Carl Palmer, Michael Magee and Jeff Greene.

Connie Walle, president of PSPC, shares the history of the organization she founded two decades ago.
