Around Town : A Ghost Is Born
- the Editors — May 1, 2010
The roving Ghost Gallery broke in its new permanent home on Thursday, April 8, with a party for its opening exhibition. Titled Best Of, it features the work of more than twenty-five artists who have shown with the itinerant gallery throughout its three-and-a-half-year lifespan.
The space at 504 East Denny Way, formerly home to the artist-run Crawl Space Gallery, was snapped up by Ghost Gallery proprietor Laurie Kearney after she saw an ad for it on Craigslist. “It’s a wonderful space for a gallery,” Kearney told City Arts. “Nice natural light, beautiful courtyard out front.” The gallery will host rotating art exhibits, a Petite Works Nook with “cash and carry” miniature art by local and international artists and a selection of jewelry and other special items by local and national designers. •
