Fast Fact

Did you know that Beaux Arts Village was started by members of an organization devoted to arts in the Northwest?

It’s true! the village can be traced to the activities of the Society of Beaux Arts, a “school of every art and craft.” Three members, in 1908, signed their names to the Incorporation of the Western Academy of Beaux Arts and purchased a fifty-acre tract of forest land, hoping to sell parcels to like-minded individuals. Sales were not brisk. By 1916, only fifteen property owners lived there. Currently, just over three hundred affluent residents populate the village. •
