Around Town: Members Only

Members Only
A gem of the Eastside arts community, the Kirkland Arts Center exists to educate artists through classes and workshops that serve almost two thousand students each year. But knowledge and technical ability aren’t the only things it gives artists. It also provides them with the opportunity to give back to the arts by becoming members and supporting the general operations, exhibitions and classes the center offers. On August 6, KAC celebrated these members with an opening for its Members’ Exhibit, an annual affair wherein a guest curator – Gunnar Nordstrom this year – picks the cream of the crop from the roster of supporters.

Members, friends and curiosity seekers fill the center, which is housed in the historic Peter Kirk Building, an 1892 structure named for the city’s founder.
