The Song Show Podcast

A digital riff on the quarterly performance series now hosted by the Triple Door, the Song Show Podcast is a monthly compilation of three songs City Arts editor Mark Baumgarten has in his personal rotation. Including some never-heard-before releases by Northwest artists, the Podcast is a quick and easy way to sample some of the latest sounds of the local music scene. And with only three songs in the mix, it’s the perfect complement to sipping coffee and skimming morning headlines. Our latest Song Show Podcast: Episode 4

Beneath the Moonlight

This week's The Song Show heads to Klickitat Canyon Winery in Lyle, Washington, where Run On Sentence songwriter Dustin Hamman runs the tasting room and, in the summer, hosts concerts every full-moon weekend night. Hamman let visiting bands take the makeshift stage for most of the evening before sitting down with City Arts Editor Mark Baumgarten and a handful of night owls to play a couple of the beautiful folk tunes found on his upcoming release, You, the Darkness and Me, in addition to a couple of previously unreleased songs.

“I don’t know if anyone wants to hear me play,” he said, modestly and earnestly, as he picked up his nylon string guitar. We are lucky he did.
