At its public launch party last night, Seattle-based Typetrigger announced plans for a $500 writing grant that will be awarded quarterly to one of its users.
The site, which had until recently been invitation-only, dispenses brief writing prompts, a 300-word maximum and a six-hour time limit for writers in need of a quick hit of inspiration.
The first grant award is slated for June, says site founder Lily Pierson, and will be open to writers of any genre. Typetrigger members will be eligible if they write a minimum of posts each week, and a panel of Seattle writers and artists will act as judges.
Of course, the best way to hone your writing until then is by joining the (totally free) site.
