Catch This: Call + Response
July 19, 2010 at 10:00 AM | Corey Kahler
It's a tough fact to stomach on Monday morning, or any morning for that matter, but there are more people enslaved today than ever in human history.
In an effort to raise awareness about this modern tragedy, Justin Dillon transformed from musician to film director, and brought together a number of musicians, political figures and those who are on the front lines of the war against slavery in the documentary Call + Response.
The film's clever trailer portrays a bit of a "Heal the World"-esque theme, however it's tough to knock a film's stylistic merits when 100% of the movie's profits will support projects worldwide that are combatting slavery.
Playing tonight only at 7:00pm at the Northwest Film Forum.
