What You Missed at the Art Walk Awards
1. "Tear-able" and delicious pizza at Caffe Vita.
2. Seattle's friendliest art stars, including Christopher Martin Hoff (sporting an "artichoke/tulip" in his lapel), Whiting Tennis, Etsuko Ichikawa, Dan Carrillo and others.
3. Tilson (the talented man simultaenously rapping and climbing stairs in this Head Like a Kite video) tearing it up on a mimed computer keyboard. (What he was typing, we will never know.)*
4. City Arts editorial director Tim Appelo doing this:
5. Other delicious refreshments:
6. Drawing contests, democratic process and Joey Veltkamp dancing.
7. Amanda Manitach's beautiful blue boots.

8. Most importantly: really interesting art work by the night's three grant award finalists: Christopher Martin Hoff (Linda Hodges Gallery), Anna Wetzel (Some Space) and Lorraine and Howard Barlow (Punch gallery). Finalists were selected by host Joey Veltkamp and guest artist judges Sharon Arnold and Cable Griffith.
Congratulations to Anna Wetzel for taking the $500 art grant (brought to you by Blue Moon and 4Culture).
Thanks to all who came out; and to all who didn't, hopefully you can check us out next month on First Thursday!
*Tilson is also featured on the Head Like a Kite release, which we'll be celebrating at Neumos on Friday, May 21. More info at cityartsonline.com/events.
