Catch This, Tacoma: MLKBallet Moves (with Spectrum Dance) and says au revoir to Kate Monthy

A special concoction of dance and live music is happening tonight and tomorrow at the SOTA Theater in Tacoma. Move #16, a program hosted by MLKBallet Company brings together performances by the following artists:

• Spectrum Dance Theater
• Maureen Whiting Dance Company
• Tacoma City Ballet
• Kate Monthy
• Joel Meyers
• Josephine's Echopraxia

You'll also see new works from MLKBallet company members, created especially for the live music you'll hear from:

• Goldfinch
• Olivia De La Cruz
• Travis Barker and the Black Sails

All this, right before MLK's artistic director Kate Monthy hops on a one-way flight to New York City to pursue her own dance work there. Company member Brittany Humphrey will take over teaching at the school and Joel Myers will continue teaching the adult program. Kristen Call, artistic director of Seattle-based Coriolis Dance Company will also teach adult classes on Tuesday evenings.
