Rumors are flying around the Internet about tonight’s Fremont Abbey Arts Center five year anniversary celebration.
The Abbey, which has in its short life become Seattle’s premier multi-disciplinary, all-ages arts hang out, has helped foster a number of artists and put on shows filled with original programming that the performers seem to love just as much as the audiences, in particular the Round series that is the jewel in the Abbey’s bejeweled crown thanks to the incredible efforts by organizer Nathan Marion.
So, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a few incredibly talented performer pop in to pay honors to the joint.
So far word is that Jon from the Head and the Heart might show, as well as Greg Paul and Holly Merrill, 9-year-old Aidyn and three other students from Fremont Music School. Also, the Mayor might bike in, though he will not be singing.
Oh, and after the main event, I will be hosting trivia in the Abbey Cafe. Here’s an easy sample question:
Q: “What are you doing tonight?”
The schedule for the event is as follows:
5pm: Young Artist Hour for kids featuring face-painting and hat-making
6 – 7pm: happy hour in the Abbey Cafe (all-ages)
7 – 9pm The Main Event in the Cafe & Great Hall
9 – 10pm City Arts sponsored trivia contest in the Cafe
