Bond Huberman

Bond Huberman is online editor and writer for City Arts magazine. Since she began as an intern way back before the launch of City Arts Tacoma in September 2006, she has occupied almost all varieties of desks available at Encore Media Group headquarters. A graduate of the University of Washington's creative writing MFA program, she "cheated" by writing a non-fiction thesis to complete the fiction graduation requirement. She is still contemplating that project, a growing collection of essays about her documentary filmmaker dad; but, meanwhile, to keep healthily distracted, she is a founding member of an artist organization called The Heroes and also collaborating on a documentary called Small Batch, about the history of Kentucky bourbon. In recent years, she has been privileged to teach writing at the University of Washington, North Seattle Community College and the girls' Arts Connect program in Tacoma. Among her growing list of interests, she carries strong penchants for reading anything by Lorrie Moore, crying at movies and frequenting Greenwood Senior Center's Karaoke Bingo night.
