Bond Huberman

Since she began as an intern way back before the launch of City Arts Tacoma in September 2006, online editor/managing editor Bond Huberman has occupied almost all manner of desks available at Encore Media Group headquarters. If you need a recommended fire escape route from our building, she's your gal.

When she's not spending too much time responding to e-mail, Bond writes regularly for the magazine and reviews theatre for the CAB. She also writes a weekly column for the blog called Illuminating Things.

A graduate of the University of Washington's creative writing MFA program, Bond "cheated" by writing a non-fiction thesis to complete the fiction graduation requirement. In recent years, she has been privileged to teach writing at the University of Washington, North Seattle Community College and the girls' Arts Connect program in Tacoma.

Bond is also a founding member of an artist organization called The Heroes and is at work on a homemade documentary called Small Batch, about the history of bourbon whiskey. Among her growing list of interests, she carries strong penchants for reading anything by Lorrie Moore, frequenting Greenwood Senior Center's Karaoke Bingo night and crying at movies.

Bond has been described as funny, lanky and bossy in equal time. She wishes "glamourous" and "good at math" were in there more frequently. But, alas.

If you have story ideas you would like to pitch to Bond, for publication in print or online, contact her via e-mail or Facebook.

Here are some things that she likes:
