It's Alive

As both a New York Times best-selling novel and $100-million-plus-grossing feature film, Isaac Marion’s zombie love story Warm Bodies is one of the most popular entertainment franchises to emerge from the Northwest in recent years. Credit Marion’s swift, vivid prose; a darkened, narrative resemblance to a millennial Romeo and Juliet; and the general conceit, which stemmed from Marion’s 2008 short story, I Am a Zombie Filled with Love. In February, Atria/Emily Bestler Books published , which deepens the mythology behind the post-apocalyptic wasteland that R, the zombie-turned-real boy, shares with his sweetheart Julie. Early reviews are enthusiastic; expect a film version soon.
